# Bindu

> Trade-compliance software for small and mid-sized EU importers. Upload the documents behind a shipment, keep the evidence each regulation asks for on one record, and file the statement the border wants. Priced per filing, not on an enterprise retainer.

Bindu is built around two ideas: (1) the same shipment facts satisfy several regulations at once, so they should be collected once and filed many times; (2) compliance content should be plain-English, citation-first, and free to read.

What ships today: the EU Deforestation Regulation. A dossier holds the plot geolocation, the evidence and the audit trail, and the Due Diligence Statement is filed to TRACES. Battery and product passports, CBAM and HS classification exist as records and checklists; their engines are in build, and nothing on this site should be read as claiming otherwise.

It regulates the wrapper rather than the product, so it catches a book, a t-shirt and a laptop, and the only food-specific rule in it is the Art 5(5) PFAS limit. Nothing is submitted to an EU portal: the declaration of conformity is drawn up per packaging type (Annex VII point 4), held for 5 or 10 years by lifecycle (Art 15(3)) and produced within 10 days on a reasoned request (Art 15(10)). The one real filing is registration in a national producer register (Art 44), which Art 44(4) makes a precondition to making packaging available; that register, its fees and any deposit-and-return scheme are set by each of the 27 Member States. Recyclability grades are A, B and C at 95%, 80% and 70% (Annex II Table 3), and grade C is banned from 1 January 2038 (Art 6(3)).
